The Cultural Leadership Programme is commissioning a significant body of research to review the nature of leadership development within the cultural and creative industries and better understand the issues and challenges faced in today’s environment.
Working strategically with partners within and outwith the cultural and creative industries the CLP will use its research to create the platforms from which to develop new programmes, track progress against milestones and strengthen its evidence base for advocacy. The CLP will place these outcomes in the context of the wider environment to promote models of good practice and diverse methodologies to achieve sector ambitions.

In the period ahead, the CLP will continue to research and explore priorities and areas of interest, engaging the sector in known and potential areas for professional development and enhancement. Research currently being undertaken includes:
· Leadership & Disability – new research to explore the numbers, issues and development priorities of disabled leaders in the cultural and creative industries. Due Spring 09
· Ensemble Leadership -- Action Research with the RSC to include the mapping and development of a case study towards creating a new model of ensemble leadership within the RSC. Due: tbc
