Dialogues on leadership

What do leaders need to make them effective? How can leaders from the cultural and creative industries work across boundaries and share their experiences with others within and outside the sectors? What contribution can cultural leaders make towards addressing some of the pressing issues affecting society today? These and other vital questions are being debated through a stimulating series of Dialogues on Leadership that thoroughly examine what leadership means today.

The aims of the Dialogues are to:
1. create platforms for debate and exchange on the broader issues and subjects that affect our society today and for the future

2. exemplify the ways in which the experiences and insights of creative and cultural organisations and their leaders add real value to society

3. identify the key challenges facing cultural and creative sector leaders

4. make connections from across a range of sectors in order to identify ways of developing effective leaders in challenging circumstances

5. Open up the debate about leadership to wider participation and discussion

The Dialogues feature a wide range of leaders from across the cultural and creative industries as well as contributors from other sectors. The Dialogues are hosted by Baroness Lola Young of Hornsey.

Linked CLP Debates:

Beyond Diversity
The issue of diversifying Boards, organisations and sectors has risen to the top across the cultural and creative industries. Beyond the moral imperative for equality of opportunity, beyond the economic argument of reaching the 'black' pound, beyond access and accessibility, how are diverse leaders tackling the challenges of leading our 21st Century organisations? Beyond Diversity seeks to penetrate the veneer of equality-based arguments and explore the issues and challenges of leaders from diverse backgrounds.
