Inspirational leaders are the most important element in an organisation, but they can be anywhere in the structure, not just at the top. They need to have vision, to understand how people work and know how to communicate that vision differently to different people - to carry them along with their ideas.

Leadership involves understanding management theory and practice and yet knowing instinctively when to break out of those constraints. Good leaders take risks but are not reckless, do things differently but not for the sake of it, put the organisation and its people before their own egos and care about the future for future generations.
