Emma’s leadership stands out through striking a delicate balance between creative producing and business management.  Since joining Bristol Old Vic as Executive Director her vision, leadership and commitment have quickly become evident.  

During her career to date, Emma has held several senior roles including Executive Director at Battersea Arts Centre, Head of Theatre at the Arts Council England, London, and Head of Producing at the Manchester International Festival.  She has demonstrated highly effective and flexible leadership in each role.

As Executive Director and joint Chief Executive (with Artistic Director Tom Morris) of Bristol Old Vic, Emma is responsible for ensuring the appropriate balance between creative risk and financial stability.  Bristol Old Vic is back on the theatre map, delivering an ambitious programme for audiences and artists, while developing an innovative new operating model designed for today’s inter-disciplinary performance culture.
