Hilary Carty, Director

As Director of the Programme Hilary maintained the overview of the CLP as a whole, working in close contact with the CLP Board and Team to deliver the Mission and priorities.  

Hilary is a strong champion of the arts and culture, having held roles as Director of Arts at Arts Council England, London;  Director of Culture and Education for London 2012's successful Olympic bid team and Director of Dance at Arts Council England. 

Hilary holds an MBA from the University of Westminster and has been awarded Honorary Doctor of Arts, De Monfort University, and Honorary Doctor of Middlesex University.   Hilary is an accredited coach through the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.


Nicola Turner, Assistant Director

Nicola Turner was the Assistant Director for the Cultural Leadership Programme (CLP). She led on the Work-based Learning strand of delivery and the Development Priorities – Artist Practitioner Leadership Development and International Leadership. Her work has included leading the development and delivery of CLP Networks and 'Peach' Placements. She worked with Director, Hilary Carty and Graham Devlin to write 'Meeting the Challenge', a publication examining leadership development in the cultural and creative industries. Previously she has worked as a freelance consultant with clients such as NESTA, the British Council and the Southbank Centre. Her work included the management of 14 NESTA Cultural Leadership Awardees. She was a Programme Manager in Fellowship Team at NESTA for four years, working with Fellows across science, technology and the arts, developing the Crucible project, for exceptional scientists and working with Director, Venu Dhupa, to conceive and deliver international Cultural Leadership Awards.

 


Diane Morgan, Project Manager

As CLP Project Manager Diane led on the intensive learning strand, the CLP development priority - diversity (BAME, Disabled & Women leaders) and the Meeting the Challenge Development Programme.
Diane devised and led on CLP’s communications strategy; directing and overseeing the brand re-fresh, web and social media developments, PR, campaigns and events including ‘CLP’s 3rd Birthday’, ‘Women to Watch’ and ‘re:freshers’.
Her formal education includes art, fashion design, media & communication (BA Hons) and visual communication (MA). She was co-founder of Spirit Arts, a multi-media, performance and education company. Diane has worked as a freelance video artist, creative consultant, educator, theatre producer and festival programmer. Previous roles include Head of Projects at Contact and Head of Creative Development at Bernie Grant Arts Centre. She also created and led the decibel regional programme & team for ACE West Midlands.

 


Becky Coletto, Project Coordinator

As Project Coordinator at CLP, Becky worked alongside the team to help manage and coordinate a range of opportunities and provision including 'Peach' Placements and Powerbrokers International Leadership Placements. Becky also oversaw CLP e-updates and print bulletins and led the recent re-design of the CLP website and the online evaluation hub, Leadership Works.

Becky joined CLP in September 2008 as Programme Administrator, prior to which she worked was Education Events Coordinator at Dulwich Picture Gallery where she worked in a small team to programme and deliver a suite of lectures, art classes and events.

Becky graduated from Nottingham University in 2005 with a BA in History of Art and English. Outside of work Becky enjoys travelling and studies interior design and Spanish

 


Sarah Foxlee, Project Administrator

Sarah worked in museum and gallery education before joining the Cultural Leadership Programme. Previously working as Assistant Curator at the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology, Sarah ran museum operations and the public programme including school workshops, family activities and outreach projects (such as the Science Museum’s Collecting Stories project). She has also held posts in Education Departments at the National Gallery and Imperial War Museum, worked at the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms and done voluntary work at the Natural History Museum and British Library. Sarah has an MA in Culture, Policy and Management from City University and specific interests in supporting 'hands on' interaction with art and museum collections.


Stephanie Checkley, Administrator

Stephanie joined the CLP team in September 2010, having worked as Receptionist in the busy Arts Council National Office. This was great preparation for being the first point of contact for the myriad of CLP enquires through written correspondence, telephone and online. Stephanie was also responsible for keeping the CLP website regularly updated, profiling new activities and the various programmes and initiatives that CLP commissions. A person with varied interests in arts and culture, Stephanie has a BA in International Development as well as a certificate in photography and a strong interest in literature.
